Barcelona's beaches welcomed 5.6 million visitors this summer, according to data released by the City Council. Citizens have made better use of the space, as shown by the halving of waste collected per user.

The Barcelona City Council has reported that during this summer, the city's beaches registered a total of 5.6 million visitors. This figure highlights an improvement in the use of public space by citizens.
As an indicator of this better usage, a 50% reduction in waste volume has been achieved, standing at 53.4 grams per user. Furthermore, the support service for bathers handled 30% more incidents compared to the previous summer.
Regarding citizen coexistence, over 95,000 complaints for uncivil conduct have been processed. Of these, 884 are related to sharing bicycles, mainly due to vehicles being abandoned outside parking regulations and obstructing passage and circulation.
