The initiative, presented by the mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Collboni, aims to position the city as a welcoming space and a bastion of LGTBI+ rights. The campaign includes a broad program that will extend across various neighborhoods, municipal facilities, and museums.
The scheduled activities range from exhibitions and historical memory routes to workshops and festive events, with the goal of raising awareness about the importance of defending the rights of the LGTBI+ community in the face of increasing hate speech. The full program can be consulted on the website www.barcelona.cat/orgull.
The slogan 'In Barcelona Live Your Pride' highlights the city as a safe place where LGTBI+ individuals can freely express their identity, reaffirming Barcelona's commitment against discrimination.
“"Barcelona is a space of freedom where no one has to hide for fear of reprisals, and where everyone is free to be who they are."
In this regard, it is highlighted that Spain has become the most rights-guaranteeing country for LGTBI+ individuals in Europe, according to the 2026 Rainbow Map by ILGA-Europe. This solid position has driven Barcelona's bid to host WorldPride 2030, a proposal supported by the LGTBIQ+ Chamber of Catalonia, the City Council, the Generalitat de Catalunya, and the Ministry of Equality.
