The proposal is part of the UNESCO-UIA World Capital of Architecture 2026 and the European Capital of Local Commerce celebrations. The goal is to integrate architectural design into daily life in the neighborhoods, transforming shop windows into ephemeral exhibition spaces open to the public.
Interested establishments have until August 15 to formalize their participation through the official form. To be selected, shops must have a space visible from the street and ensure the proper conservation and lighting of the pieces provided by architecture studios.
The Barcelona 2026 Technical Office will be in charge of assigning the models, prioritizing geographical proximity between the shop and the firm, as well as the affinity between the type of business and the exhibited project. The exhibition will take place from October 3 to 10, coinciding with World Architecture Day.
