Following the renovation of the Phenomena cinema, Barcelona now boasts a new premium cinema hall: the Mooby Gran Sarrià Club. This new offering features eight small-format rooms, each equipped with reclining and motorized seats, ensuring more legroom and a more comfortable experience for moviegoers.
The innovation extends beyond the seats; the traditional popcorn stand has been transformed into a première lounge, where attendees can enjoy a selection of appetizers and wines, enhancing the gastronomic experience associated with film screenings.
The Mooby cinema chain, owned by the Balañá family, known for managing iconic venues such as the Aribau, Bosque, and Glòries cinemas, as well as the Coliseum, Tívoli, and Borràs theatres, is embracing this new concept. The Gran Sarrià, which first opened its doors in 1999, is thus adapting to modern times, after closing earlier this year for renovations and to sell its old seats, a move similar to one previously undertaken by Phenomena.
The eight rooms at Mooby Gran Sarrià Club are small-format, with capacities ranging from 30 to 80 spectators. Ticket prices are set at 11 euros from Monday to Thursday, and rise to 13 euros on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, reflecting the premium nature of the venue.
In addition to screening dubbed and original version productions, the new cinema will also offer live broadcasts of major international events such as operas and ballets, as well as the Gran Sarrià musical cycle, combining live music with cinematic classics.
