The project, part of the European Local Commerce Capital designation, involves collaboration with the Barcelona Creativity & Design Foundation and artistic direction from Rebobinart. The goal is to improve the visual appeal of the city's traditional commercial areas.
A total of 11 local creators will design and paint the exteriors of 185 establishments. This initiative will directly benefit 15 associations and commercial districts across Barcelona's various areas.
This aesthetic measure complements the cleaning and urban painting efforts already underway in five city districts through the Pla Endreça.
“"This project not only enhances the customer experience but also contributes to creating a more dynamic, cohesive, and attractive commercial fabric for the city."
Raquel Gil emphasized that local commerce is a fundamental asset for addressing current challenges such as changing consumer habits and digitalization. The City Council aims to support all initiatives that invigorate this key sector for shaping the urban environment.
