For the first time, the program of free activities for young people aged 12 to 16 will run through August and include the neighborhoods of the Gothic and Sant Pere, Santa Caterina i La Ribera. This initiative, offered by the Pla de Barris, aims to promote youth participation and environmental awareness.
The schedule, which runs until August 21, offers free workshops and outings. These activities complement the over 80 free offerings of the Raval Educatiu project for children and adolescents during the summer. The activities focus on disciplines such as performing arts, dance, visual arts, music, and circus, in addition to cultural and leisure excursions.
The deputy mayor and councilor for the Ciutat Vella District, Albert Batlle, highlighted the importance of these initiatives in providing accessible and free educational leisure options for teenagers. Meanwhile, the commissioner of the Pacte per Ciutat Vella, Ivan Pera, emphasized the role of young people in building the community life of their immediate surroundings.
The program, designed in collaboration with local professional teams, aims to create safe and engaging spaces, encourage youth participation in activity design, introduce local resources, and foster group cohesion and emotional well-being.
