The incident, reported around 7:00 PM, prompted Civil Protection to activate the Ferrocat emergency plan. According to infrastructure managers, the issue originated in a long-distance train traveling from Figueres to Madrid, which became stranded between the Mollet junction and La Sagrera.
The breakdown, which reportedly affected the pantograph or the overhead lines, coincided with maintenance work on the second track, preventing alternative routing. Consequently, several long and medium-distance trains have been held at stations along the line.
At this time, there is no estimated time for the resumption of rail services, as technical teams work to resolve the issue and restore normal operations.
