The section of the L1 metro line between Florida and Plaça de Sants is partially closed for network improvement works until August 28th, leading to significant delays and crowding on the alternative bus service.

The track renovation works between Santa Eulàlia and Mercat Nou began this Friday, affecting the usual service of the red line. Commuters have experienced considerable increases in their travel times, with some users reporting journeys of almost an hour to cover the affected stretch.
In addition to delays, access issues have been reported on the alternative bus service, which quickly fills up at certain times, leaving some passengers unable to board. This situation is causing concern among regular users of this line.
TMB estimates that this partial closure will affect between 30,000 and 40,000 users daily. To mitigate the impact, the company recommends that travelers connect with other metro lines whenever possible. An alternative road service has also been implemented, which will be evaluated in the coming days to assess its effectiveness.
The works, budgeted at €11.5 million, aim to renovate the tracks to reduce vibrations and noise, thereby improving passenger comfort.
