The arrest of the two individuals, who have numerous prior offenses for property crimes, took place on July 28th and they were brought before the court on July 30th. According to police sources, the arrestees are accused of robbery with violence or intimidation.
The incident occurred as the victim was entering a tourist apartment building. The two thieves took advantage of the door opening to enter the premises behind him. While one of the detainees distracted the tourist, the other snatched the gold chain with a strong pull.
The investigation began after the tourist filed a report. Security camera footage from the building was crucial in identifying the alleged perpetrators, as it shows them acting in coordination and following the victim to the entrance. After committing the robbery, they fled the scene quickly.
Mossos d'Esquadra officers specializing in urban crime recognized the two men from the recordings. Members of the Urban Crime Group of the Eixample district proceeded to arrest them on July 28th.
