The events occurred on May 27th during a plainclothes preventive patrol in the shopping area. Officers observed four men acting suspiciously next to a vehicle parked improperly. Three individuals were seen handling cash before dispersing, and one entered the vehicle attempting to flee.
Officers managed to intercept the vehicle and locate the other two men separately. Given their conflicting statements and claims of not knowing each other, the car was searched. Inside, a backpack was found containing 14,000 euros in bundled 50-euro notes, and a package with a 'Superman' insignia hiding over a kilogram of cocaine.
The driver was found with over 400 euros, while the other two detainees collectively carried more than 800 euros. None of the three could account for the origin of the money.
During the operation, the detainees' mobile phones were seized. The vehicle was taken to the Guàrdia Urbana de L’Hospitalet impound for technical inspection. The arrested individuals were brought before the duty investigating court in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat. One of them had previous convictions for public health offenses.
