Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested a 23-year-old man for his alleged involvement in 18 counts of theft with force and one count of larceny from vehicles parked in a private parking lot in Barcelona's Eixample district.

The investigation began in February following a detected increase in robberies with a similar modus operandi at a private parking facility in the area. Officers observed the suspect accessing the garage and breaking vehicle windows with a fire extinguisher to steal valuables.
Stolen items included clothing, shoes, tools valued at approximately 200 euros, house keys, backpacks, and other personal effects. Surveillance camera footage was crucial in identifying the alleged perpetrator, who acted repeatedly and with notable lack of caution, primarily during nighttime hours.
The detainee has 33 prior police records, mostly for property crimes, particularly theft from vehicles. He also has 10 records from the National Police. Investigators have confirmed that after being released on multiple recent occasions, he immediately resumed his criminal activity.
