Michel Kisfaludi, a French executive with extensive experience in Barcelona, has expressed his admiration for the city, describing it as a "unique blend of tradition and modernity." Kisfaludi, who splits his time between Paris and Barcelona since 2024 as Deputy General Manager of Europcar France, first arrived in the city at 24 and returned at 33 to stay permanently, considering it his city "by love, by choice."
The executive highlights the special energy that permeates Barcelona, a result of the coexistence between "neighborhood festivals and startups with young people from many nationalities." He emphasizes the city's capacity to be large enough to "get lost in" while simultaneously offering "easy escapes to privileged nature" within easy reach.
Regarding necessary improvements, Kisfaludi points to the importance of attracting and retaining young talent by offering "good career opportunities." To achieve this, companies require a "stable regulatory framework" and a "political commitment" to continuous infrastructure improvement.
Looking ahead, the executive hopes Barcelona will progress in reducing urban pollution and that its universities will continue to climb international rankings, aspects he deems "essential for projecting the city internationally."
