Two political figures from Barcelona City Council have been included in the Forbes Women 2026 list of the 50 most influential women in Catalunya, highlighting their professional careers.

Deputy Mayor Laia Bonet and councilwoman Raquel Gil, both members of the PSC executive at Barcelona City Council, have been recognized by Forbes magazine in its selection of the 50 most influential women in Catalunya for 2026. This ranking highlights women with notable careers in various sectors such as politics, business, culture, science, and society.
Regarding Laia Bonet, Forbes emphasizes her legal background as a Law graduate from UPF and her experience as a professor of Administrative Law. Her career includes roles as a legal advisor to the Parliament of Catalunya and Secretary of the Government of the Generalitat under President José Montilla. She currently serves as the First Deputy Mayor of Barcelona City Council, leading the Area of Ecology, Urbanism, Infrastructure, Mobility, Public Space, and Housing.
As for Raquel Gil, the publication underscores her professional career at the intersection of trade unionism, social rights, and public administration. A Law graduate from the University of Barcelona with further training at ESADE, she has held significant positions within UGT de Catalunya and chaired the Association for Mutual Aid of Immigrants in Catalunya (AMIC). After her tenure at Sant Feliu de Llobregat City Council, she joined Barcelona's council, and since 2025, has been Deputy Mayor for Social Rights, Economic Promotion, Labor, Feminisms, and Democratic Memory.
The inclusion of Bonet and Gil on the list is complemented by other figures linked to the city, such as Blanca Sorigué, Director General of the Barcelona Free Trade Zone Consortium, and Gemma Calvet, a lawyer and expert in public policies. The list also includes Sílvia Paneque, Minister of Territory, Housing, and Ecological Transition of the Generalitat.
The Forbes Women Catalunya 2026 selection recognizes 50 women as leaders for their influence across various sectors of Catalan society, without establishing an ordered ranking.
