Barça Handball to Compete in 2026 Club World Championship in Egypt

The Catalan club, current champions, will participate for the twelfth time in the competition to be held in Egypt's New Administrative Capital.

FC Barcelona handball will compete in the 2026 Club World Championship, taking place in Egypt from September 26th to October 1st. This marks the Catalan club's twelfth participation in the tournament.

The 19th edition of the tournament, known as the IHF Men’s Super Globe, will be held in the New Administrative Capital of Egypt, located 45 km east of Cairo. This is the third consecutive time the African nation hosts the competition.
The championship will feature 10 teams, divided into two groups of five. Six teams have already secured their spots, while the remaining four will be determined through a preliminary qualifying round.

Barça, holding six titles, heads Group A. The team coached by Carlos Ortega will face Montada (Morocco) and EC Pinheiros (Brazil), representing South America. The fourth opponent in the group will be decided after a preliminary qualifying match between Los Angeles Handball Club and Zamalek SC.
