The first day of the congress focused on the Civil War and Francoism, addressing topics such as female mobilization, trade union activity, the territorial organization of anti-Francoism, and the PSUC's projection beyond Catalonia. The inaugural lecture was given by José Luis Martín Ramos.
The session explored various episodes, actors, and areas of the party's trajectory, offering a journey through the challenges and transformations of both periods. The event features researchers from different generations, combining established careers with new perspectives.
Tomorrow, October 1st, the second day will focus on the PSUC's role during the Transition, analyzing Eurocommunism, political culture, and social mobilization. The day will conclude with research communications on new lines of study concerning the party.

This third edition, which follows the congresses held in 2006 and 2016, is particularly significant due to the 90th anniversary of the PSUC's founding on September 26, 1936. The party joined the anti-fascist unity government of the Generalitat de Catalunya just weeks later.
The congress involves the Memorial Democràtic, six Catalan universities (UAB, UB, UdG, UdL, UPF, URV), three foundations (Cipriano García, Nous Horitzons, Josep Comaposada), and the Associació Catalana d’Investigacions Marxistes.
