This festival, held on May 1st, 2nd, and 3rd at the Poble Espanyol in Barcelona, aimed to select the finest croissant. Over the three days of competition, a total of 35,000 croissants were served to approximately 22,000 attendees, who had the opportunity to taste and vote for their favorite creations.
The offering from El Secreto de Ciscu, the Dracula Croissant, captivated the palates of those present. This delicacy is characterized by its chocolate coating, a creamy vanilla filling, and a natural sour strawberry syrup, a combination that won the hearts of the attendees.
Concurrently, the jury's prize was awarded to the pastry shop Takashi Ochiai from Barcelona, for its creation named Berry Bliss. This piece, filled with mascarpone cream, strawberry and mint compote, and finished with a strawberry streusel, was the experts' favorite.
The eight pastry shops that participated in this edition of the Croiss&Fest were Bubó Barcelona, Cruixent Barcelona, Takashi Ochiai, El Secreto de Ciscu, La Cantonada Forn & Pastisseria, Brunells, El noi del pa sense gluten, and Mervier Canal.
