A group of young people has created the documentary Petons al cul to immortalize the figure of Artur Mijangos, creator of the now-defunct Portaferrissa market in Barcelona, and the search for its iconic camel.

The definitive closure of the Portaferrissa market, popularly known as 'El Camello', has inspired a group of young people to bring its story to the screen. The documentary, titled Petons al cul, focuses on the life of Artur Mijangos, creator of this Barcelona symbol, and the search for the camel figure that gave the market its name and disappeared after its closure.
Directed by Joan Farrés and Victor Peña, who are friends of Artur, the 90-minute film reconstructs the protagonist's life from his beginnings at 17 with the 'Blue Jeans' shop to his current stage at 80 years old, marked by loneliness. The production aims to offer him hope and vindicate his figure as an alternative to the traditional concept of a successful entrepreneur.
The plot's common thread is the search for the camel, last seen in 2023, as the documentary explores the different stages of Artur's life. He was passionate about cinema, music, and fashion, and never stopped undertaking new projects. The production intends to show a part of Barcelona that is disappearing, reflecting on the loss of spaces like the Portaferrissa market.
The directors' close relationship with Mijangos has been key to the project, as they see in him not only a fascinating character but also a way of being they identify with. The title, Petons al cul, refers to Artur's peculiar farewell, summarizing the work's humor and familiarity. Filming took place between January and April, and it is currently in post-production, with an expected release before the end of the year and festival presentations.
