The incident occurred after police officers stopped a motorcyclist who was riding on the sidewalk. The individual was eventually arrested on charges of drug trafficking, assaulting law enforcement officers, minor injuries, and driving without ever having obtained a driving license.
During the identification process, officers confirmed the motorcyclist was wearing headphones and did not possess a valid license. At one point, the individual attempted to flee on foot, but officers managed to detain him. It was then that the man produced a box cutter from his pocket and brandished it at the officers, although he did not use it and eventually dropped it on the ground. During the apprehension, the Mossos sustained minor injuries.
Following the arrest, police searched the man and found packages containing cocaine and marihuana among his belongings. According to police sources, the estimated street value of the seized substances amounts to 555 euros for the cocaine and 50 euros for the marihuana. He was also found to be carrying over 560 euros in cash, broken down into small-value bills.
The Catalan police stated that the detainee had no prior criminal record in their database.
