The alert was received at 8:02 AM, forcing the evacuation of the center, which serves around 800 students aged 12 to 18. The fire was confined to a single classroom, but smoke spread throughout the building, requiring ventilation efforts by the firefighters.
According to municipal sources, the fire appears to have originated from a fan left on overnight. The flames damaged classroom furniture and student equipment, such as computers. Although the fire is now extinguished, students could not return to the premises during the day.
Classes were suspended on Monday, and the resumption of educational activities for Wednesday will be evaluated. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
