Coach Javi Aznar is ending a long and successful tenure at the helm of CN Sant Andreu, where he guided the club's best-ever women's water polo team for 12 years. His departure follows the club's decision not to continue with the women's sports project, a move that will also see several key players leave.
The coaching position will be taken over by Marc Comas, who previously served as the team's assistant coach and managed CN Mediterrani until 2020.
During his time at CN Sant Andreu, Aznar amassed an impressive record, establishing himself as a leading figure in Catalan women's water polo. His achievements include one Champions League title, two third-place finishes in the same European competition, a European Super Cup, three Queen's Cups, and a Spanish Super Cup. The only domestic title he did not secure was the league championship.
