The La Mercè 2026 Pyromusical will feature a soundtrack designed by Josep Montero, singer and creative force behind Oques Grasses. The event will move to Nova Icària Beach.

The La Mercè 2026 Pyromusical will take place on Sunday, September 27, at Nova Icària beach, a new venue for the show. For the fourth consecutive year, the soundtrack will be curated by a guest artist. This time, Josep Montero, leader of the group Oques Grasses, has selected the tracks for the playlist, offering an eclectic mix with a notable presence of Catalan music. The musical mix has been handled by sound designer and technician Marçal Cruz from the Oido studio, and Pirotècnia Igual will be responsible for the synchronized fireworks display.
Oques Grasses' participation comes just days before their farewell concerts at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. Formed in Osona in 2010, the band has become a significant musical phenomenon, blending pop, reggae, funk, electronic, and urban sounds with a distinctive personality.
Over more than a decade, Oques Grasses has garnered hundreds of millions of streams and released popular albums such as Fans del Sol and A tope amb la vida. Their farewell concerts at the Estadi Olímpic, with nearly 220,000 tickets sold out in hours, confirm their status as an unprecedented cultural and social phenomenon.
The 'author' Pyromusical format debuted in 2023, coinciding with Sónar's 30th anniversary. That year, the musical selection was curated by the festival; in 2024, Rosalía signed the soundtrack, followed by Estopa in 2025. Now, in its fourth edition, the baton passes to Oques Grasses, joining a list of artists who have left their mark on one of La Mercè's most popular and emblematic events.
