The month of June has left an exceptional thermal balance in Catalonia, with nearly seven out of ten Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya stations recording tropical nights, the highest number in twenty years.

According to the collected data, 69.5% of the measurement points detected nights where the temperature did not drop below 20ºC. This record has only been surpassed since the beginning of the century by June 2003, when 77% of the stations were reached.
The heat has been especially intense on the coast and in inland areas. In Barcelona, the Raval neighborhood recorded 23 tropical nights, while other coastal points such as Mataró or Montsià also reached high values. Inland, towns like Tàrrega or Granollers experienced about ten of these nights.
In addition to the nightly minimums, maximum temperatures also broke records. 17% of the stations exceeded 40ºC at some point during the month, with notable peaks in the Ponent and Ebre regions. In Vilanova de Segrià, temperatures reached 43ºC on June 22nd, marking the highest temperature of the month across the country.
