The Boqueria market, one of Barcelona's main attractions, has launched the 'Project 8 Million' to encourage visits from local residents.

The president of the market's vendors, Jordi Mas, has encouraged citizens to enjoy La Boqueria during less crowded hours, recommending the period between 9 and 11 AM. "Local shoppers bring us a lot of 'life'", he stated, highlighting the importance of resident visitors.
With 25 million annual visitors, La Boqueria aims to be "more than a market", strengthening its connection with the community. The new initiative, 'Project 8 Million', seeks to have every Catalan visit the market at least once a year.
The market, spanning 4,500 square meters at street level and a similar area underground for logistics, is in constant evolution. La Boqueria is a global benchmark and has advised other Spanish markets, such as Madrid's San Miguel, on selecting professionals.
Currently, the market employs fifth and sixth-generation professionals, demonstrating its long tradition and commitment to the sector.
