The business fabric dedicated to the quantum industry in Catalonia has reached 52 companies, a figure that represents a notable increase compared to data collected in 2019.

According to a report prepared by the agency Acció, the sector has experienced significant expansion over the last seven years. Currently, most of these companies are classified as small and medium-sized, while only 2% of the total exceed 10 million euros in annual turnover. Despite being in an early stage, global growth forecasts for this industry are between 12% and 16% annually.
To boost this ecosystem, the Government has announced the mobilization of 2.5 million euros annually starting in 2027. These funds are primarily aimed at expanding specialized companies, improving technological talent training, and activating demand in strategic sectors such as finance, Industry 4.0, aerospace, and telecommunications.
Quantum technologies leverage properties of subatomic particles to offer solutions in computing, secure communications, and sensors. These tools allow for solving highly complex problems, such as developing new drugs or detecting financial fraud, surpassing the capabilities of traditional computers.
