The reinforcement of the H12 line will be permanently concentrated in its central section, connecting Plaça de les Glòries with Plaça Cerdà. This measure involves creating a central H12 line with different start and end points than the conventional route, incorporating eight more buses that will increase ridership in this specific section by 15%.
This improvement will allow the frequency to increase to an interval of five minutes at the point of highest demand. However, users utilizing the specific buses on the central route must alight upon reaching Glòries or Plaça Cerdà to board another H12 that continues to the conventional end of the journey.
This is a service improvement aimed at making it faster, although it represents a change of paradigm in the way we operate.
This initiative is part of the Barcelona City Council's Bus Agenda 2026-2030, which aims to meet the growing demand for public transport. The plan also includes the creation of twelve new kilometers of bus lanes, the launch of three new express lines, and traffic light prioritization tests to favor bus passage.
