Museum Night opens doors for free at nearly 100 cultural venues

The annual event offers six hours of free access to museums, monuments, and cultural spaces with activities for all audiences.

Nearly a hundred cultural venues in Barcelona and its surroundings will open their doors for free this Saturday for six hours, as part of Museum Night 2026.

The initiative, which includes museums, exhibition halls, cultural spaces, libraries, and historical monuments, aims to match last year's visitor figure of 115,000 people, according to the coordinator of municipal museums, Montse Torras.
The event will take place between 7:00 PM and 1:00 AM. Most venues will allow free access without prior reservation, provided capacity allows. However, some emblematic locations such as Casa Batlló, Palau Güell, Museu Picasso, and the Recinte Modernista de Sant Pau will require a pre-booked ticket for the open house day.
Beyond visiting collections, Museum Night will offer a wide range of parallel activities, including concerts, plays, and workshops, designed to attract all segments of the population. This year, a special effort has been made to engage young audiences, with a program of thirty specific activities.
As a new addition for 2026, new venues are being incorporated, such as the Gran Hotel Barcino in Barcelona, and in L'Hospitalet, the Centre Cultural la Bòbila and the centre La Florida 6.0. Spaces recently renovated will also be open for visits, including the Centre d’Interpretació del Castell de Montjuïc, the Casa de l’Aigua, and Fabra i Coats (part of the Museu d’Història de Barcelona), as well as the Reial Monestir de Santa Maria de Pedralbes, which is celebrating its 700th anniversary.
