The Catalan Audit Office has a new leader. Llum Rodríguez has been unanimously elected as Chief Auditor, becoming the first woman to hold this historic office.

Following the resignation of Miquel Salazar on May 30th for personal reasons, the members of the plenary of the Catalan Audit Office elected Llum Rodríguez as the new Chief Auditor this Tuesday. This election marks a precedent, as Rodríguez is the first woman to hold this position since the institution's founding.
The extraordinary session included the participation of auditors Maria Àngels Cabasés, Anna Tarrach, Manel Rodríguez, Ferran Roquer, and Josep Viñas, who voted in favor of the new leadership. Rodríguez succeeds Salazar, who was acting Chief Auditor by substitution due to the legal prescription of Article 30 of Law 18/2010.
According to the established procedure, the Chief Auditor is proposed by the Plenary and appointed by the President of the Generalitat for a three-year term. Once the appointment decree is signed, the new Chief Auditor will take office in a formal ceremony before the President of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa.
Llum Rodríguez (Rioseco-Ourense, 1961) holds degrees in Law and Political Science from the University of Barcelona. She previously served as a civil servant for the Barcelona Provincial Council, where she was manager of the Tax Management Body. Since February 2022, she has been a member of the Catalan Audit Office, directing sectoral departments A and G and serving on the Governing Commission.
