The Association of Promoters and Builders of Catalonia (APCE) has called on public administrations for decisive action to facilitate housing construction, facing the severe supply and demand crisis affecting Spain.

The ordinary general assembly of APCE highlighted the sector's concern over the current housing situation. The entity's president, Xavier Vilajoana, warned about the imbalance between supply and demand accumulated over years of insufficient production, which has led to price tension and access difficulties for citizens.
Vilajoana stressed that partial or electoral measures are not enough, and a change in approach focused on generating supply is needed. He called for more resources from the Administration, effective land activation, reduction of administrative hurdles, and a stable regulatory framework that fosters investment confidence.
Furthermore, he advocated for strengthening public-private collaboration, emphasizing the promoter sector's role as a key player in increasing the housing stock and meeting growing demand.
During the event, the Director General of Housing and Land of the Government, Inés Sandoval, presented the main lines of the State Housing Plan 2026-2030. This plan aims to increase the affordable housing stock, strengthen support instruments for development, and facilitate access to housing, especially for disadvantaged groups.
The assembly also served to pay tribute to Enric Reyna, honorary president and former president of APCE between 1977 and 2012, who recently passed away. A commemorative plaque was unveiled in recognition of his career and contribution to the sector.
