Two days after a butane explosion in an apartment block on Venero street, in the Poblenou neighborhood, affected residents have expressed their outrage over the lack of assistance.

The blast, which occurred last Wednesday, has left part of the property severely damaged. Of the 12 homes in the building, three are uninhabitable, while the rest are suffering from water and electricity cuts with no clear date for restoration.
Residents have stated they feel helpless regarding the management by the property owners and the insurance company. The situation has generated significant tension, leading to verbal confrontations between those affected and building representatives in recent hours.

"We are asking the City Council if they can put some pressure on the property owners. We need more help."

For its part, the Barcelona City Council has reported that psychological support has been provided from the very first moment through the CUESB. The council reminds that the responsibility for rehabilitation and housing lies with the building's owners, although Social Services are evaluating each case individually.
The Poblenou Neighborhood Association has demanded an immediate housing solution for families who cannot return to their homes, warning that repair work could take a long time. Meanwhile, the Central Ocular Inspection Unit of the Mossos d'Esquadra has ruled out criminal intent in the origin of the explosion.
