The unions USTEC, CGT, COS, and Intersindical have called for a new strike day across Catalonia for next Tuesday, June 9, in disagreement with the pre-agreement reached by the Department of Education.

The call comes after these unions rejected the pre-agreement signed last week with the Department of Education. The protest day is scheduled for June 9, coinciding with the first day of Pope Leo XIV's visit to Barcelona.
During a press conference held at Plaça Espanya in Barcelona, before the start of a demonstration towards the Arc de Triomf, union representatives urged the Department of Education to meet with the strike committee.
The unions insist that negotiations should take place within the framework of the strike committee and not at the Sectoral Education Table, which includes the unions that did sign the agreement.
