Summer is construction season on the Barcelona metro network. This year, works focus on L1 and the L9/10 Nord lines, with track renewals, and also on various stations to enhance accessibility.
The section of lines L9 and L10 Nord between La Sagrera and Onze de Setembre will be closed from June 25 to August 30. These works are necessary to adapt the infrastructure for the future connection to the central section towards El Guinardó. Subsequently, between August 31 and September 6, the closure will extend one station further, to Bon Pastor. To reach the affected stations, TMB has set up a special bus service and recommends using bus lines L1, L2, and H8.
L1 will also experience closures between La Florida and Plaça de Sants from July 17 to August 28, due to track renewal works between Santa Eulàlia and Mercat Nou. TMB is providing a special bus service and suggests lines L5, L9/10 Sud, FGC, or Rodalies as alternatives.
In addition to section closures, the Verdaguer station on L4 will be closed from July 6 to August 30 for accessibility improvements. Trains on the yellow line will run normally but will not stop at this station. TMB recommends walking or using bus lines L5, L2, or V19.
Finally, the connection between lines L1 and L3 at Catalunya station will be out of service from July 6 to September 7. The reason is the removal of asbestos and renovation of facilities. During this period, transfers will need to be made externally.
