Ports de la Generalitat, through its brands Costa Brava Cruise Ports and Delta Ebre Port, is participating in the biennial Mediterranean cruise fair, Seatrade Cruise Med 2026, held in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria from September 16th to 17th. The event gathers 2,000 participants from the cruise industry from eighty countries and around 180 exhibitors.
Catalan representatives are holding meetings with agents from major cruise companies to retain current shipping lines and attract new ones, particularly high-end ones. The goal is for tourists to enjoy the services offered at the ports and destinations, respecting the territory and the natural environment.
The Catalan delegation is led by the Director General of Ports de la Generalitat, Esther Roca, accompanied by Sílvía Romero, Head of Economic Promotion and Tourism for the Palamós City Council, and Sara Valls, Cruise and Commercial Promotion Technician at Ports de la Generalitat.
Costa Brava Cruise Ports focuses on high-quality tourism, seeking to attract cruises with high-spending passengers who generate economic returns through cultural visits, excursions, enogastronomic activities, and shopping. At the Ports of Catalonia stand, new promotional catalogs and information about the ports of Palamós and Roses, as well as the tourist attractions of the Costa Brava, are being presented.
Meanwhile, Delta Ebre Port is promoting the Terres de l’Ebre region to small-format, high-end cruise companies. This initiative aims to showcase the port of La Ràpita and its natural, cultural, and gastronomic attractions, including its biosphere reserve status.
Participation in this fair is part of the promotional actions of Delta Ebre Port, a brand comprising Ports de la Generalitat, the La Ràpita City Council, the Tarragona Provincial Council Tourism Board-Terres de l’Ebre, and the Tortosa Chamber of Commerce.
