The composition of the Barcelona Tax Council was renewed this afternoon in the City Hall's Saló de Cròniques. This body, specializing in tax matters, operates with technical independence, objectivity, speed, and free of charge to oversee the management, collection, inspection, and review of the City Council's public revenue.
Jordi Valls, 4th Deputy Mayor for the Area of Economy, Housing, Finance, and Tourism, welcomed the new members. The council will be chaired by Tomàs Font i Llovet, with Paloma González Sanz as the new vice-chair, succeeding Antònia Agulló. The members are Sergio Llebaría Samper, Montserrat Ballarín Espuña, Fernando Javier Frias Valle, and Yolanda García Calvente.
The Barcelona Tax Council has established itself as a successful model, adopted by numerous Spanish municipalities. Its mediation role has been crucial in resolving conflicts between citizens and the municipal treasury, enhancing efficiency and reducing judicial costs.
