Several Catalan municipalities have implemented new measures and strengthened safety campaigns for the Sant Joan vigil, in response to increased fire risk and anticipated high temperatures.

With the arrival of the year's first heatwave and the approaching Sant Joan vigil, many Catalan town councils are taking extreme precautions to minimize the risks associated with the celebration. The aim is to ensure public safety and prevent incidents similar to those that occurred in previous years.
In Castelldefels, the installation of temporary stalls for selling fireworks has been prohibited, a pioneering measure intended to reduce pyrotechnic use and, consequently, the risk of fires and burns. Additionally, the security deployment in Plaça de les Palmeres has been enhanced, involving over 200 agents from the Local Police, Mossos d'Esquadra, and private security.
In L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, measures such as prohibiting street barbecues and installing barriers to prevent uncontrolled gatherings have been implemented. Surveillance in problematic areas has also been intensified, and establishments have been reminded to refrain from placing outdoor seating to avoid incidents.
Other municipalities in Vallès, such as Rubí, Terrassa, and Sabadell, have reiterated the ban on lighting fires or setting off fireworks within 500 meters of wooded areas. In Mollet, emphasis is placed on caution due to high temperatures. In the Baix Llobregat region, towns like Sant Boi, Gavà, and Viladecans have also issued calls for extreme caution.
In the province of Tarragona, Vila-seca has restricted access to sensitive beach areas and designated the Prats park as the main celebration site, with a security detail of 72 officers and drone usage. In Tarragona city, the installation of marquees, structures, and large-format sound equipment on beaches, as well as large barbecues, has been prohibited.
These measures are part of a context of drought and high temperatures that have already led to reinforced deployments in previous years, aiming for a safe vigil that respects the environment.
