An actress from the renowned theater company La Calòrica, a resident of Barcelona, has shared her reflections on the city's transformation, housing problems, and the use of public spaces in a recent interview.

The actress, born in Palma, began her artistic career in theater and music from a young age, later training at the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona. Since 2010, she has been a key member of La Calòrica, a company known for its blend of humor and social criticism, establishing a unique perspective in contemporary theater. She has also participated in audiovisual projects, such as the series Sala Polivalent.
She currently resides in the Sants neighborhood since 2019, having previously lived in Sants-Badal and Eixample Esquerra. During the interview, she expressed her enjoyment of walking along Sants street when it is pedestrianized, advocating for more traffic-free zones in all neighborhoods.

"It's a joy and a privilege, I intend to occupy it whenever it's closed."

Regarding superblocks, the actress considers them fundamental spaces for citizen gathering, where public space can be enjoyed without the pressure of consumption. However, she expressed her disappointment upon observing the proliferation of terraces in the Consell de Cent superblock.

"Seeing that it was full of terraces for consumption made me a little sad."

The actress compared Barcelona's situation to a play, where the main themes would be the housing problem and the presence of expatriates. She noted that the city is losing its distinctive character, a phenomenon that, according to her, is observed in many European cities and is already beginning to affect her Sants neighborhood for about two years.
Despite her concerns, the actress confessed her long-standing passion for Barcelona, a city that, since her childhood, has exceeded her expectations.
