The facilities, located between Rocafort and Entença streets, are already being repaired by the City Council with the aim of resuming operations as soon as possible. The water play area opened on July 10th and operates daily until September, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with short water sequences.
The inauguration of the water play area had already experienced a delay, as it was initially expected to be operational since early June. The social media profile "Cuidem Sant Antoni" had previously denounced this delay days before the official opening.
These water leisure spaces have been designed following universal accessibility criteria, intended for children aged five and above. Access for dogs and other pets is prohibited.
With this new facility, Barcelona City Council now has a total of 18 operational water play areas in the city this summer, doubling the offering compared to last year. These areas are the only ones authorized for recreational water use, as bathing in ornamental fountains remains prohibited.
