Police sources confirmed that the assault took place around 8 PM on Wednesday, when the victim received a stab wound inside a carriage located at La Sagrera station.
The suspects immediately fled the scene of the attack. According to a witness statement, one of the assailants was carrying a baton in his hand as they ran away.
The Catalan police have opened an investigation to clarify the facts, but so far no arrests have been made.
The injured man was treated by the Medical Emergency System (SEM). Although he received assistance, the exact severity of his injuries has not yet been publicly disclosed.
