A fire in an apartment located at Carrer de Nicaragua, 69, in the Les Corts district of Barcelona, left two people injured and 27 evacuated during the Night of the Three Kings.

The incident was reported around 8:30 PM on January 6 on the fourth floor of the building. The City Fire Department activated 11 vehicles and managed to extinguish the flames around 4:00 AM. The most probable cause, according to initial hypotheses, was the combustion of a stove.
At the time of the incident, 45 people were in the building. The 27 residents who had to be evacuated all lived above the affected apartment, as the fire caused the upper floors to lose electrical supply.

The City Council offered emergency accommodation to the displaced residents, but all 27 affected individuals chose their own residential alternatives.

This incident follows other recent fires in the city. On December 31, 2025, an 83-year-old woman died in a fire on Carrer del Cistellet, in the Can Peguera neighborhood of Nou Barris. Furthermore, on November 18, a fire destroyed six shacks and injured two people in an informal settlement between La Sagrera and Sant Martí de Provençals.
