The Sant Andreu district kicks off October as the protagonist of the World Capital of Architecture, with the Canòdrom serving as the central venue for a program featuring exhibitions, tours, and workshops.

The Sant Andreu district is in the spotlight throughout October for the celebration of the World Capital of Architecture. The Canòdrom, an Ateneu for Digital and Democratic Innovation, becomes the reference point, hosting the traveling exhibition "From Party Walls to Facades. A Legacy for the City," which until October 30th showcases the transformation of ten Barcelona party walls into new urban facades. The specific intervention for Sant Andreu, located in the placeta de Grau, is the work of architects Dániel Hartvig and Dávid Kálna.
In addition to the main exhibition, the Canòdrom will offer complementary activities such as the talk "Can a party wall transform your home and neighborhood?" on October 14th and a 360º immersive piano concert on October 15th. The Nau Bòstik will host "Arquitectura.coop: Habitar, projectar i treballar des del cooperativisme" (Architecture.coop: Inhabiting, designing, and working from cooperativism) until October 31st.
The program is rounded out with various tours to discover the district's heritage, including a visit to Trinitat Vella and Trinitat Nova (October 10th), a walk through urban gardens (October 13th), a blindfolded architectural soundscape tour (October 15th), and a guided visit to the parish of Sant Andreu de Palomar (October 17th). Spaces like La nova Pegaso (October 22nd), the perspective of activist Jane Jacobs (October 24th), and Fabra i Coats will also be explored.
Workshops have been organized to engage with architecture, such as a collective activity on space transformation at TEB Sant Andreu (October 5th) and "Milorem el barri a Sant Andreu" (Let's improve the neighborhood in Sant Andreu) for children at Plaça de la Trinitat (October 25th). The Poliesportiu Municipal Camp de Ferro will host a talk on the design challenges of sports facilities (October 27th).
As part of the World Architecture Day (October 5th), from October 3rd to 10th, shop windows, markets, and commercial areas across the city will display architectural models donated by design firms, transforming into an ephemeral museum. This initiative unites the World Capital of Architecture with the European Capital of Local Commerce.
The cultural mediation and accessibility program aims to bring the Capital's content to all citizens, removing barriers and offering resources adapted to diverse needs. Guided tours and adapted workshops will be offered weekly until December 13th, with applications open until the end of November.
The October program also includes activities beyond Sant Andreu, such as exhibitions, talks on water architecture, debates on the Modern Movement, conferences on public space, and roundtables on contemporary architectural challenges. The CCCB will host the presentation of the finalist projects for the European Prize for Urban Public Space 2026.
