Max Martínez, a student from the Institut Carles Vallbona in Granollers, has been awarded an excellence medal during his participation in the WorldSkills 2026 global competition. The event, which concluded yesterday in Shanghai, annually recognizes the skills and expertise of vocational training students worldwide.
Martínez competed in the Network Systems Administration category and was part of the Spanish delegation, which comprised 34 young participants. The WorldSkills final brought together approximately 1,400 students from 80 countries and regions over six days.

Also representing Catalonia was Erik Ortega, a student from the Escola d'Hoteleria i Turisme in Lleida, who secured fifteenth place in the Baking category. Ortega viewed the experience positively, describing it as "very enriching" and stating it allowed him to learn "many things on a personal and professional level," as well as meet people in the same sector and learn to "overcome challenges".
WorldSkills is an international competition held annually to recognize excellence in vocational training.
