The PSC municipal group in Berga accuses the local government (CUP and ERC) of lying about the execution of the new inclusive playground project on the passeig de la Indústria, using a single budget item for two agreements.

The PSC municipal group in the Berga City Council accuses the local government, formed by CUP and ERC, of "consciously lying" in the execution of the works for the new inclusive playground on the passeig de la Indústria. According to the socialists, the executive used "a single action" to justify two different commitments: one derived from participatory budgets and a political budget agreement that had stipulated a 40,000 euro allocation.

"To pretend that a single action serves to fulfill two commitments acquired with different subjects is not flexibility: it is cheating."

Marc Ortega · PSC Councilor in Berga
The conflict became public during the plenary session on Thursday, where socialist councilor Marc Ortega argued that the City Council was passing off a single 31,000 euro allocation as if it responded to two independent agreements. The renovation of the park was carried out during December, fulfilling both the winning proposal from the participatory budgets (promoted by the Fundació La Llar) and the motion approved unanimously at the proposal of the PSC.

"A larger park could not be built in El Vall, and the government is very satisfied with the final result, which has also been agreed upon with the Fundació La Llar."

Aleix Serra · Berga Urban Planning Councilor
The Urban Planning Councilor, Aleix Serra, defended the action, although he opened the door to continue working along these lines. However, Marc Ortega insisted on his criticism and demanded that this redirection be "real and immediate" with action also taken in other playgrounds in the city.
