Two drivers were seriously injured in a head-on collision between two vehicles on the C-16 road near Cercs around 2:00 PM this Friday, leading to the total closure of traffic in both directions.

The incident took place at noon when one of the vehicles reportedly lost control and collided head-on with the other. Due to the severity of the impact, the road had to be closed in both directions to allow the intervention of the Mossos d'Esquadra police, the Firefighters, and the Medical Emergency System (SEM). The closure lasted until 3:10 PM.
Although the injuries sustained by both drivers are serious, police sources confirmed that their lives are not in danger. One of the affected individuals was taken by ambulance to the Althaia hospital in Manresa, while the other, requiring more urgent attention, was evacuated by helicopter.
Mossos officers administered a breathalyzer test to one of the drivers, which came back negative. The test will be performed on the other involved party once they arrive at the hospital where they are receiving treatment.
