The Berga City Council has completed the renovation of the upper playground in the Passeig de la Indústria, turning it into an inclusive and accessible space, fulfilling the popular vote of 2025.

The creation of an inclusive park, titled “Right to have fun and play,” was the most voted investment proposal in the 2025 participatory budget process. This initiative originated from the joint work of the Fundació la Llar and students from the CFGM of Technicians in Care for Dependent Persons at the Guillem de Berguedà Institute.
The proposal received 265 votes, representing 42.8% of the total votes cast. The renovation of the park at Passeig de la Indústria was prioritized due to its central location, good accessibility, and optimal thermal comfort conditions, offering shade in summer and sun in winter.
Furthermore, the action also responds to a motion approved unanimously in the municipal plenary session in October 2024, promoted by the PSC, which urged the transformation of at least one existing playground during the legislature. The upper park was prioritized as it was in a more deteriorated state than the lower one.
The new space features four key play elements: a trampoline accessible for wheelchairs, a musical game, an inclusive spinner, and a set of swings, in addition to the soft colored pavement. The work, carried out by the specialized company BENITO URBAN, SLU, involved a total cost of 31,273.90 euros (VAT included).
