Five Berguedà teams fight for promotion to the higher category

Up to five football teams from Berguedà aspire to move up a category in the coming weeks, with Casserres already celebrating their direct promotion to Tercera Catalana.

Berguedà is experiencing an exciting sporting moment in football, with a total of five teams from the region aiming to be promoted in the coming weeks. Added to these challenges is the recent direct promotion of Casserres to Tercera Catalana, after being crowned champions of Group 16 in Quarta.
The fight for promotion to Primera Catalana promises to be thrilling. Puig-reig, who finished second in Group 4 of Segona, will have to compete in the play-off phase. There, they will face two other teams from the region: Berga, who finished third, and Gironella, who finished fourth. This marks a historic season for Berguedà clubs in Segona Catalana.
The semi-finals for promotion to Primera Catalana will begin this weekend. Puig-reig will play against Corbera on Saturday, May 23rd, at 6:30 PM, with the second leg at home. Meanwhile, a local derby will take place between Gironella and Berga, with the first leg in Gironella on Saturday at 7:00 PM and the return leg at Berga's ground. The winners will compete in the final on the first two weekends of June.
For its part, Avià has secured a place in the promotion play-off for Segona Catalana after finishing second in Group 8 of Tercera. Their opponent will be Can Buxeres, in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat. Should they overcome the semi-finals, they will face either Deportivo Paraguay or Sant Genís-Penitentes. The final will be played on the first two weekends of June.
In Quarta Catalana, Montmajor is the sole representative from Berguedà competing in the promotion play-off to Tercera. After finishing second in the league, they will face Navàs B in the semi-finals, with the first leg in Navàs and the second leg in Montmajor. The other semi-final will be between Sallent B and Puigcerdà. The final will be played on the first two weekends of June.
