This small-scale reproduction faithfully replicates the distinctive features of the Berga eagle, including the ability to move the carrier's legs and perform the customary salute before the dance. The figure has been designed to be both a play item for children and a coveted object for festival collectors.
The project is a collaboration between the Berga City Council and the Catalan company Davallada, which specializes in manufacturing rubber figures of giants and popular bestiary. The Fundació Horitzó del Berguedà will handle the commercialization of the piece, which is expected to be the first in a broader collection of figures from the Corpus berguedà.
“"The eagle is one of the most emblematic and solemn figures of the festival, and we believe it is very significant to start the collection with this comparsa."
The rubber figure, measuring 21.5 x 20 centimeters, has been manufactured with certified materials for children's use, combining various techniques to achieve maximum realism in details such as the crown, scarf, and carrier's costume. The manufacturing process, which typically takes six months, has been accelerated to four months for this initial edition.
Initially, about 300 units are planned for production, with future replenishments based on demand. The figure will go on sale starting June 1 at a price of 35 € at Botiga de la Manela (Sant Pere square, 4) and through the Davallada company's website. The Fundació Horitzó del Berguedà will also facilitate sales to interested local shops.
