Residents of Montclar celebrate the inauguration of their new swimming pool, a highly anticipated facility intended to revitalize the village and serve as a social gathering point.

After decades of advocacy, the locality of Montclar sees its long-held desire for a municipal swimming pool come to fruition. The inaugural plaque highlights that the facility is "the result of the will and perseverance of the residents of Montclar, with the aim of revitalizing the town and contributing to the territorial balance of the municipality of Agramunt".
The local mayor, Josep Maria Porta, has described the pool as "a dream come true," emphasizing its significance for the community. The new facility, which opened its doors last Saturday, is already emerging as a hub for social activity.
The bar service, managed by local young people under the name "La Torreta," has quickly become a popular meeting spot thanks to its diverse menu. The pool measures 16.25 meters in length by 10 meters in width, with a maximum depth of 1.70 meters. The complex includes changing rooms, an accessible restroom, a technical room for water treatment, a first-aid station, and the bar area itself.
The project, initiated in 2021, is a collaborative effort between the administrative board of Montclar and the Agramunt town council, with support from the Provincial Council of Lleida. The total construction cost amounts to 591,523 euros, funded partly by the Council (194,500 euros), the Montclar board (50,000 euros), and the Agramunt council using funds from the 2025 budget.
The pool operates with extended hours, from Monday to Friday between 12 PM and 8 PM, and on weekends and holidays from 11 AM to 8 PM. Entrance fees and season passes are aligned with those in Agramunt, and the new pool is included in the regional pass for Urgell.
