Puig-reig is joining the participatory budget initiative, a tool already used by other municipalities in Berguedà such as Avià, Berga, and Bagà. The aim is for citizens to propose and vote on projects to be executed with a budget of 20,000 euros.
The process has begun with informational sessions at La Sala. The next open session for everyone will be held on September 22nd, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, also at La Sala. Until October 5th, residents over 16 years old registered in Puig-reig, as well as registered entities and associations, can submit their proposals online or in person at the Citizen Attention Office.
Proposals must be of municipal competence, of general interest, specific, technically and economically viable, not contravene legality or human rights, and not already be included in the ordinary budget or duplicate planned actions. One proposal will be allowed per person, group, or entity.
The timeline includes proposal submission until October 5th, 2026. Subsequently, from October 6th to 28th, validation and technical study will take place. Citizen voting, which will be digital using a 'shopping cart' system, will occur before November 30th, 2026, the deadline for counting and publishing results. The execution of winning projects is planned for the year 2027.
