The Department of Agriculture of the Generalitat of Catalonia has announced the planned start of the aerial treatment campaign to control the pine processionary caterpillar in the Berguedà region.

The work will be carried out whenever meteorological conditions are favorable, which could extend the duration of the campaign. The treatment will focus on surfaces previously marked on a specific map.
The technique used will involve ultra-low volume application (3 liters per hectare) of a biological product based on Bacillus thuringiensis kurstaki. This agent is considered non-toxic to humans and compatible with organic farming and livestock practices.
