The 'Entaula’t, dinem plegats' project, promoted by the Gironella City Council to combat unwanted loneliness among people over 60, has resumed its activity this September with a significant expansion of the service. While during its first edition, between September 2025 and July 2026, lunches were held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, the service will now be available from Monday to Friday.
To participate, reservations must be made one day in advance, either in person at the Casal Cívic La Llar or by calling 656 460 710. At the time of booking, users can choose their menu and pay for the meal, which costs 9 euros. The aim is to offer a quality, balanced meal made with local and seasonal products, while fostering a space for social interaction.
The first edition of the project saw a notable reception, with 1,123 uses of the dining service by 172 users. Of these, 80 repeated the experience. Additionally, 391 taxi services were provided to cover 38 individuals with mobility difficulties. The dining room has a daily capacity of up to 25 people, with an average participation of 10.65 users per day.
Beyond the meal, 'Entaula’t, dinem plegats' aims to establish itself as a meeting and community space. Professionals and municipal technical teams regularly participate to address issues of well-being, health, and quality of life, and to publicize relevant resources.
The free transport service for those in need, subject to prior request and municipal validation, remains active. The cost of this transport is shared between the Gironella City Council and the Consell Comarcal del Berguedà.
