“"Initiatives like BROC are fundamental for building our municipality and territory. Supporting our local producers and projects born from agriculture is not only a tool to boost the local economy but also to protect our identity, landscape, and way of life in Berguedà. The Town Council will stand by local initiatives that join forces, create community, and give visibility to the talent and effort of our people."

On Saturday, October 10th, La Vinya del Soler in Puig-reig will host the first edition of BROC, a fair celebrating wine, gastronomy, and the territory, promoting local produce and agriculture.
The natural setting of La Vinya del Soler, in Puig-reig, will be the stage for the first edition of BROC, a fair focused on wine, gastronomy, and territory. The event aims to highlight the value of local produce and a connection to the land, directly linking citizens with small producers and farmers from the Berguedà region and its surroundings. The initiative is driven by the Cooperativa Espardenya i Esclop with support from the Puig-reig Town Council.
The fair's name, BROC, refers to the spout of a 'porró' (traditional wine jug), a cultural symbol evoking a leisurely way of enjoying wine and gastronomy. The fair views viticulture and food craftsmanship as vital tools for preserving the landscape, tradition, and respect for natural rhythms.
The fair will feature established artisan and wine-producing projects. The Cooperativa Espardenya i Esclop will showcase its work in recovering traditional vineyards and local production. Invited wineries include Grau i Grau, Celler Sanmartí, and Celler La Diferenta. Local gastronomy will be represented by Casa Bechs (charcuterie), Formatgeria La Rocatova (cheese), Xocolates Natur Cadí (chocolates), the Restaurant Cal Marçal, and Fleca Vidal (bakery).
The Mayor of Puig-reig, Eva Serra, emphasized the event's importance for the local community and the preservation of the Berguedà region's identity.
The program of activities includes a talk on ethnolinguistic heritage and rural customs by historian and philologist Maria Estruch, a guided tasting led by sommelier Enric Garcia, live musical performances by The Rates and Gibast, a communal lunch, and creative spaces for children.
The fair will be open continuously from 11 AM to 7 PM. Access will be organized through the purchase of a ticket package that includes the official BROC glass. Designated parking areas will be available at La Vinya del Soler (Cal Marçal to Viver road, km 2.7).
